Gynecologic surgery
When surgery is the right choice, we use the least invasive approach that is safe for you.
Procedures we perform
- Hysteroscopy: a thin camera through the cervix to diagnose and treat problems inside the uterus
- Polypectomy: removal of uterine or cervical polyps
- LEEP: removal of abnormal cervical tissue (learn more)
- Myomectomy: removal of fibroids while keeping the uterus (learn more)
- Laparoscopic-assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH), with removal of the tubes and ovaries (BSO) when indicated
- Vulvar excisions for biopsy or removal of lesions
- In-office procedures: colposcopy, IUD and Nexplanon placement and removal
Where surgery takes place
Hospital-based gynecologic surgery is performed at HCA Florida Westside Hospital in Plantation. Some procedures can be done in our office.
Benefits of minimally invasive surgery
Compared with open surgery, minimally invasive approaches usually mean smaller incisions, less pain, and a faster return to normal activities. Not every patient or condition is suited to them; we will discuss the best approach for you.
